Public Information Officer  – United Nations OCHA

Regional public information and advocacy officer coordinating the public information and media aspects of disasters in the region.  Covered Typhoon Haiyan in 2013 in the Philippines and the more recent earthquake in Nepal in 2015.  Supports high-level official visits to disaster areas, writes for the OCHA global web page and responds to media requests.  Drafts key messages, chairs the Humanitarian Communications Group when appropriate and delivers public information workshops to PIOs in the region.
